The upper back is one of the most underdeveloped areas of the human body. Whether it be a well conditioned athlete or desk worker, most people neglect their upper back. Horizontal pulling is highly overlooked most of the time. Bench Press, Push Ups, Dips and Burpees are commonly in a training session, followed by spending hours per day sitting down in our cars or at a desk in front of the computer. This is a recipe for shoulder and neck issues as well as decreased performance. Try adding some horizontal pulling into your training! Typically aim for 2x per week while also adding some bent over rows Dumbbell or Barbell assisted, Ring, Bar or TRX Rows etc.
