Every Moment On Minute for Optimal Condition
Every moment on the minute (EMOM) is a type of "interval training" that's getting more and more popular in the fitness industry.
Generally, this style of training I structure for my crew to have approx the same amount of work to rest.
e.g. 30 seconds work 30 seconds rest and I use 5-7 rounds (10 to 21 minutes of work) with a maximum of 3 exercises.
Why that specific amount of rounds and exercises?
- Because we are trying to achieve a certain rate of perceived exertion aka "RPE"
- We do this so as not to compromise the quality of the exercise.
- Any thing more than this time frame/rounds things start getting sloppy.
- If you do more than 3 exercises, you miss the point in working with an exercise through to fatigue due to excessive amounts of other movements.
Here is something I put my crew through today!... Give it a crack and let me know how you go feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
12 Minute EMOM
Odd Min - 20 Kettle Bell swings @ 24/16kg
Even Min - 20/30m Bear Crawl
